Just a stone’s throw from Taormina’s most refined beaches...

Hotel La Pensione Svizzera is directly adjacent to the central cable-car, leaving every 15 minutes, which takes you down to the best and most popular beach in Taormina, Lido Mazzarò.

You can use the cable-car or paddle a boat from Mazzarò to visit the enchanting nature preserve of Isola Bella, a island with public beach in front of a small bay. Here it’s possible to rent a boat for a 45 minute ride at the discovery of the bays and small grottos near the island.

Private beach on Lido Tropicana - At your special advantage, La Pensione Svizzera offers also a private beach reserved to our guests on the north of Spisone (easily reachable with a shuttle service); Lido Tropicana is a wonderful beach resort equipped with bars and restaurants where you can rent all your deckchairs, umbrellas and watersports equipment

...and 5 minutes walk from Corso Umberto, Taormina’s lively main drag

Hotel La Pensione Svizzera is located just down the hill from the main pedestrian drag in Taormina, Corso Umberto, which brims with elegant shops, fashion boutiques, cafes and restaurants. This little gem in Taormina is the best place to have a nice stroll up and enjoy the evening “passeggiata”.

Here you can buy postcard and all kinds of craftsman souvenirs for your friends, but Corso Umberto’s shops mainly sell upscale fashionable clothes and jewelry. In one of the many boutiques of Italian and International high fashion you could find the right dress to remember forever your stay in Taormina!

A small village showing all Sicily's beauty

Taormina is a small, cozy village dating back to the 4th century B.C., located between hills and the Ionian Sea, on the foreground of Europe's largest active volcano, Mount Etna.

Aside from white-sandy beaches and a shimmering blue sea, a real ocean of green full of exotic Mediterranean tropical plants, flowers and delightful gardens, touches with grace this small city worldwide known for its warm climate.
